Arnaud Clement and Rainer Schuettler will return to complete their quarter-final on Thursday after play was suspended at 8.52pm.
Officials opted to bring an early end to proceedings after Clement took the second set to level the match at one set apiece.
Schuettler made a flying start to the match, surging into a 5-1 lead in the opening set before taking it 6-3.
But Clement fought back well in the second and a superb backhand passing shot on set point saw him take the set 7-5 to draw level in the match.
The winner will meet second seed Rafael Nadal for a place in Sunday's final.
