Defending champion Roger Federer knows Mario Ancic will be a dangerous opponent when they meet in the quarter-final of Wimbledon on Wednesday.
The big-serving Croat was the last man to beat Federer in SW19, although that victory came back in 2002.
Federer has since gone 63 matches unbeaten on grass, a run that includes five consecutive Wimbledon titles.
"I completely underestimated him back in 2002 when I played him," admitted Federer.
"I got completely surprised. He played well until the very end. I was a little shell shocked and didn't know what happened to me.
"What it taught me was not to underestimate any opponent, no matter where they're from, what technique they have, what ranking they have.
"I had a tendency when guys maybe didn't have the proper technique or were new on tour, I would sometimes not give them the respect maybe they deserved."
