One of three sisters who play professionally - Kateryna and the lesser-known Valeria being the others - Bondarenko cracked the world's top 20 earlier this season. Enjoyed a decent claycourt campaign, beating Svetlana Kuznetsova in Berlin. Made a good switch to grass by reaching the last eight at Edgbaston so should be capable of a decent run here. More likely to succeed in the doubles though - she partnered Kateryna to the Australian Open title in January.
