Always a popular Wimbledon character, Davenport returns to SW19 for the first time since giving birth to son Jagger last June. Made a remarkable return to action following her pregnancy absence, winning two titles last autumn and adding two more this spring. A knee injury has hindered her of late, but if fit she will be a player to avoid for the top seeds. Her last match here was the 2005 final in which she missed championship point against Venus Williams. With 55 titles to her name, Davenport is now joint seventh on the all-time list.
