Became the lowest-seeded player to win the Wimbledon title when, as 23rd seed, she defeated Marion Bartoli in last year's final to win the event for the fourth time. Venus has lost four of six matches against fellow top-10 players this year, but her big serve always makes her dangerous at SW19 - where she dominated at the start of the decade - and she cannot be written off.
