Unexpectedly made the quarter-finals here two years ago but disrupted preparations make a repeat unlikely. Lost in the first round in Halle and then was forced to pull out of Nottingham with a rib injury, putting his participation here in doubt. It's all a bit of a shame for the battling Czech who impressed on the clay, reaching the semis in Rome and the last 16 in Paris. If he does play, look out for Stepanek's bizarre celebrations - he has been known to breakdance on court in delight.
